Darcie's Home on the Lake
Built nineteen years ago, this beautiful house on Beaver Lake was supposed to be Darcie and her family's forever home. When it first opened, it was so beautifully finished that it was even featured in Luxe Magazine, a publication that spotlights high-end architecture n the Pacific Northwest.
As her family grew she began to look at smaller homes in the surrounding area. Nothing could match the feel, comfort, location, and ammenities of her current home. Ultimately she chose to refresh and upgrade her current home with modern cabinetry, an island that seats eight, an upgraded basement and hang out space, and , and her trusty 19-year-old Wolf stove.
Working closely with her designer they focused on every detail—from custom cabinetry and flooring to countertops and wallpaper—ensuring the space truly reflects their own personal style. Darcie, the interior designer, and the Fortunata team met weekly to review progress, make minor changes, and keep everything rolling down the right path.
She now has a home that she feels comfortable in with all the finishes of a brand new custom home. It's time to get the magazine folks back out for a refresh.

The Space
Darcie's original kitchen worked amazingly well for entertaining and feeding her extended family. With high end appliances and timeless design, it was an amazing kitchen... in 2006.

Upgraded Island
As her family expanded one of her primary needs became the ability to host larger gatherings. She chose an island that could accommodate six people, perfect for entertaining those who love to linger in the kitchen while you cook.

Media Room
To accommodate those who wanted to step away from the kitchen, they chose to move them to the recently renovated basement/billiards room. Previously featuring a media room and several smaller areas, she opted to open up the space, making it more inviting for older children and adults.

Hints of Texture
The designer identified subtle areas to incorporate texture and elegance. By utilizing small corners and nooks for wallpaper and tile, the spaces began to feel more complete and sophisticated without being excessive.

The Custom Metal Hood
The team recognized that the metal cabinetry hardware required an additional element of steel to complete the look. Will and Nat collaborated with a local fabricator to create a custom metal hood that harmonizes the design throughout the kitchen. When asked about her favorite aspect of the remodel, Darcie immediately highlights this piece of custom architecture.
