Mark and Ali's North Bend Home
Mark and Ali had spent two years renting an apartment in North Bend while growing their young family and searching for a permanent home.
Originally from Denver, they had remodeled several houses and knew exactly what they wanted. They finally found a house in the Si View neighborhood of North Bend, conveniently located near grocery and local restaurants.
Following their realtor's suggestion, they collaborated with Will and Nat to transform the house, which hadn't been updated since its construction in 1984. With a pen in hand, Mark sketched out their vision, detailing everything from colors to fixtures.
Will and Nat brought vision to life, resulting in a stunning transformation that increased the home's value from around $800,000 to over $1.2 million in a lovely, established neighborhood, perfect for Mark, Ali, and their daughter.
The Fortunata team attended to every detail to meet the design requirements and maintained excellent communication throughout the process. Remarkably, Mark and his family moved in just three days after the originally projected date, which had been set weeks prior.

The Kitchen
Mark and Ali aimed for a sleek Scandinavian/Japanese aesthetic. They selected neutral, timeless colors and focused on the finer details, incorporating high-end appliances to the experience they desired.

The Built in Microwave
A key feature they eagerly anticipated nearly caused a delay in the entire project. However the Fortunata team quickly sourced a new model and had it installed in time to keep everything on schedule.

Coordinating Cabinetry
To maintain a cohesive flow throughout the home, they chose to use the same cabinetry in the kitchen and both bathrooms. These custom-built cabinets add warmth and continuity to the entire space.

Sweating the Small Stuff
Mark discovered a detail he couldn’t accept: the shower wall next to the cabinets extended 6 inches beyond his plans. He envisioned a much tighter corner. The Fortunata team took note, devised a solution, and rebuilt the wall. This required adjustments to the custom glass, but created a much cleaner final product.

Mark's Favorite Feature
Mark and Ali were frustrated by the sight of clean dishes piled in a worn dish drain on the counter. After returning from a trip to Europe, they invented the drying cabinet. With custom slotted shelves, dishes can now dry inside the cabinets rather than being left out on the counter A clever solution, indeed!
